Jobs for Education and Special Education Graduates
At NeuroMethod Tutoring, you will have the opportunity to develop professionally as a learning specialist through one-on-one sessions with students. You will have the chance to draw upon your academic training and student teaching experience to help our clients with both process (how they learn) and content (what they learn). Your career in education can thus take root with us, and grow. If you have no specific background in psychology, but are interested in our approach to learning, do not hesitate to apply as we will train you. As you develop professionally, whenever you feel unsure of yourself due to lack of experience, you will be supported and mentored by our founder. And if you are a seasoned professional, you will find a receptive atmosphere for the experience you bring to the table. We are committed to being a workplace where our learning specialists can thrive and find professional fulfillment. Apply here.
Jobs for Psychology Grad Students
At NeuroMethod Tutoring, we approach tutoring from a psychological perspective. We strongly support our learning specialists in finding their unique therapeutic voice and encourage integrating any theory that is appropriate for a given student. Sessions frequently include approaches from cognitive-behavioral psychology, motivational interviewing and psycho-education about neuroscience and the brain, but almost any theory can be integrated into this work. Apply here.
Relevant Work Before Practicum for Psychology Majors - Although this work is not therapy, you will gain relevant experience that will be a valuable asset in competing for practicum positions. For example, tutoring kids with ADHD and other learning challenges provides in-depth understanding of the academic, social, and emotional challenges that these students face. In addition, working with parents, teachers, school staff and psychologists allows you to gain experience in coordinating care between multiple providers and advocating for students.
